Aurora Background Loop

  brand · string

  Brand palette. The bands take its two accent colours plus two colours made from them, and sit on its ground. Light brands give an airy, pastel aurora; dark brands give a glowing one.

• Colors

  colors · array

  Your own colours as hex strings; empty uses the brand's accent colours. The first colour is the main band, the second the one it flows into; leave out the third and fourth and they are made for you, one by turning the first colour round the colour wheel and one by mixing the first two. Mid-tone, saturated colours read best on a light ground.

• Speed

  speed · "slow" | "normal" | "fast"

  How quickly the bands flow and fold. Each step is a whole-number multiple (1, 2 or 3) of the same motion, so the loop stays seamless at every speed. 'slow' for behind a talking head, 'fast' for a short title card.

• Grain

  grain · number

  Film grain over the whole frame, 0 to 1. It stops soft gradients breaking into visible steps after YouTube or Instagram compress the video. Keep it around 0.3; set 0 only if you add your own grain in the edit.

• Safe area

  safeArea · "center" | "left" | "none"

  Where your text will sit. 'center' softens the middle of the frame for a centred title, 'left' softens the left side for a headline with a line of body copy. The aurora stays visible there, just quieter. 'none' shows the full aurora everywhere.

• Vignette

  vignette · number

  How much the aurora fades into the ground colour towards the edges and corners, 0 to 1. Around 0.35 keeps the edges clean for cropping and stacking; 0 lets the bands run right to the frame edge.

• Intensity

  intensity · number

  How strong the colour is, 0 to 1. 0.7 is rich but still quiet enough for dark text on a light brand. Go to 0.4 to 0.5 behind small or thin text; go to 1 when the aurora is the whole shot.

• Fold

  fold · number

  How much the bands bend as they flow, 0 to 1. At 0 they are straight, leaning stripes of light; around 0.6 they sway in soft folds; at 1 the folds are deep and dramatic.
